As of January 1st, 2017 (and subject to final financial approval), The Center for Holocaust Studies at the Institute for Contemporary History (IfZ) in Munich is hiring 

Two Researchers (with PhDs, E13 TV-L, full time)

The place of work is Munich, Germany. 

Details on the individual positions:

1. A Researcher (E 13 TV-L, full time)
Duties include editorial work on English language research texts, the organisation and planning of workshops and conferences as well as individual research on the history of the Holocaust and its wider contexts. 
Prerequisites include a PhD degree in Modern / Contemporary History, deep knowledge of the Nazi period, anti-Jewish persecution and the Holocaust as well as a high degree of proficiency in English. 
Applications by English native speakers are explicitly encouraged.
The position will initially be limited to three years. 

2. A Researcher (E 13 TV-L, full time)
Duties include the organisation and planning of workshops and conferences, especially with Eastern European partners, editorial work on research texts as well as individual research on the history of the Holocaust and its wider contexts, with a focus on Eastern Europe. 
Prerequisites include a PhD degree in Modern / Contemporary History, deep knowledge of the Nazi period, the Holocaust, and Eastern European contemporary history, as well as a high degree of proficiency in an Eastern European language. Knowledge of Yiddish or the readiness to acquire the language are desirable. 
The position will initially be limited to three years.
