This international conference brings together scholars to share emerging research on the Holocaust in the southeastern tier of Europe. Presenters from the social sciences and the humanities will address a range of topics—including collaboration, postwar trials, victims' responses to persecution, and the cultural politics of Holocaust commemoration—in order to forge new perspectives on the entangled histories of the region.

This conference is being co-organized by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies in Washington, DC, and the Elie Wiesel National Institute for the Study of the Holocaust in Romania. Please visit ushmm.org/southeastern-europe-conference for a preliminary list of speakers and topics.
