Call for Papers

A new research group focusing on Holocaust and Contemporary Genocides: Popular Culture and Digital Technologies organises a forum about Holocaust memory, archives or the representation of the Holocaust and genocide in the 21st Century. The online forum will take place on 22 April 2014.

The group consists of like-minded, international individuals from a wide range of disciplines interested in exploring how Holocaust and genocide memory is perpetuated in 21st century culture. The current core members met at the Holocaust Studies Conference held at Southampton University (Summer 2013).

Would you like to participate in the forum?

Then answer the call for 10-15 minute papers about Holocaust memory, archives or the representation of the Holocaust/ genocide in the 21st Century. Please send abstracts to: v.g.walden@qmul.ac.uk. Deadline is 28th February.

Skype Conference Call

The forum will consist of three papers, followed by discussion. It will be held via Skype conference call. The research forum will be followed by a general meeting to discuss plans for the research group, for those who wish to stay. If you would like to attend, but not present, please also email: v.g.walden@qmul.ac.uk to confirm your place.

With your abstract or confirmation email please include your time zone and availability, so they can best organise a time that suits everyone.

Plans for the future

Please do also get in touch if you would like more information about the group, would like to participate in the research forum as a presenter or audience, or would be interested in offering a guest paper at one of their future research forums. The group already has lots of plans for the future, including a conference, edited collection, journal and public engagement activities, and they would love to hear from other enthusiastic academics.
