Europa Nostra, the leading heritage network in Europe, and the European Commission have recently launched the Call for Entries to the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards 2020. 

This long-standing awards scheme, Europe’s highest honour in the field, was established in 2002 by the European Commission and has been run by Europa Nostra ever since. It aims to identify and celebrate best practices in the heritage field across Europe each year. 

In 2020 and 2021, two new ILUCIDARE Special Prizes will also be awarded from among the submitted applications to the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards. ILUCIDARE is a project funded by Horizon 2020 with the aim of establishing an international network promoting heritage as a resource for innovation and international cooperation. 

The European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards will contribute to ILUCIDARE by identifying, promoting and facilitating the upscaling of best practices in cultural heritage-led innovation and diplomacy.

We would now like to ask you for your invaluable help with the dissemination of the Call among your network and in encouraging suitable applicants to apply.

The deadline for submissions is 1 October 2019 (date of sending).

The following are our suggestions for how to most widely spread the information about the Call:

1) Translate the short text enclosed and post it on your website together with the attached e-banner along with the link to watch this video here

2) Email the translated text, together with the e-banner, to your network of contacts

3) Post messages on your social media channels (with link to apply) and share/retweet the messages posted on the Europa Nostra Facebook and Twitter accounts as well as the ILUCIDARE Twitter account. Please use the #EuropeanHeritageAwards and #ILUCIDARE hashtags on Twitter.
