The newest contribution to the EHRI Document Blog comes from Astrid Ley, who takes a close look at the unpublished memoir of Gerardo (Gerhard) Nassau she discovered during her recent EHRI fellowship at The Wiener Library in London. Nassau’s memories of his time at Sachsenhausen in late 1938 are presented alongside explanatory comments and linked to an aerial photograph of the camp to help the reader understand and visualise the experiences he recounts in his memoir. Nassau, then only 21 years old, was arrested in the days following the November Pogrom or "Kristallnacht".
