Repatriation Efforts – Luxembourg State Policy Towards Jews during World War II

The author of this EHRI Document Blog post, Jakub Bronec from the University of Luxembourg, gives an insight into the repatriation attempts of Luxembourg concerning Jews during World War II.

By starting with a post-WWII testimony of a Luxembourg Jew, this blog post follows the Luxembourg State Policy towards Jews during World War II. The post presents the work of the research project LUXSTAPOJE that systematises and extends the analysis of individual records held by the Luxembourg “Foreign Police” (Fremdenpolizei). Focusing on the foreign Jews living in Luxembourg in the late 1930s, the project team managed to collect the data to produce complex statistics on the pre-war and post-war period.
