Astrid Frohloff

Astrid Frohloff is a German TV moderator and journalist. Since 2009 she is hosting the well-reputed investigative TV magazine “Kontraste” at ARD, the first public channel. Before she hosted the talkshow “Im Palais. Zu Gast bei Astrid Frohloff” at German Tv RBB and she has been chief-anchorwoman of the nationwide “18:30”-news show in SAT.1.

Astrid Frohloff is executive member of the board of the human rights organisation „Reporters without Borders”.

As a journalist she is not only specialized in domestic politics but also in Middle East topics. From 1994-1999 she was working as a TV correspondent in Jerusalem. As the head of the SAT.1 office in Jerusalem she covered the Middle East Region. She was reporting from Arab countries such as Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan and Oman.

Astrid Frohloff was studying political science in Hannover and Munich (M.A.). She then got her Master Degree in journalism at the Institute for Journalism in Hannover. She spent some time in the U.S. where she studied journalism at the University of Austin, Texas. She also spent some months in Boston and New York.
