Alexandra M. Szabó

Alexandra M. Szabó is a PhD student at Brandeis University in the field of history and a researcher of the project “Revisiting Early Testimonies of Hungarian Jewish Holocaust Survivors through a Digital Lens” at the Research Center for Computational Social Science, ELTE University. She graduated from ELTE in literary and cultural studies, as well as from the Central European University in history with a Jewish Studies specialization.

Her research interests include Jewish and Roma survivors, immediate postwar social history, women's history in the Holocaust with a specific focus on fertility events and experiences that translate to sexual violence. She is the recipient of the Crown Fellowship at Brandeis University, of the Dr. Elemér and Éva Kiss Scholarship at the Hungarian American Coalition, and she won the 2019 ISCH Essay Prize for Cultural Historians.
